By now if you looked at all the pictures and read everything I have posted you probably realize that I have a soft spot for ghost towns and in particular Route 66. Even though I have many more pictures from my travels to post up I just hope that in some small way that I could keep the memories of these special places alive. I'm in my 30s and I see so many people especially my age and younger take things like our history, where we came from and how we got there for granted. I was lucky I got to experience so much of this country with my father and in my career, I just hope in some small way that I kept the memory of these long fading places still alive.

This might be the best of all of the towns in Arizona and not just ghost towns, especially with the Route 66 tie-in. If you got a performance car or bike Sitgreaves Pass is an absolute blast, I would just get out there early to avoid the people going over who are afraid of heights.

My Loss Prevention Agent took this video on my Black Berry while we were going over Sitgreaves Pass in my Camaro a couple months ago. I'm basically summarizing the history of Oatman, Goldroad and the 1926-53 alignment of Route 66. I finally found it after looking for my Youtube account, you get a really good idea how worn the road is from all the tire noise in the background. I actually am having a hard time talking because there is so much to concentrate on like the giant pot hole at 3:40, my Nothing , AZ video is much clearer. I should have had my Agent keep the video rolling once on the back side too. I was going WAY faster than the 20 MPH speed limit the entire time, very difficult but reward road:
