    Default The great Nevada ghost town tour of 2013

    Hey Folks,
    I just got back from a 10 day Jeep tour of central Nevada.

    I wanted to post some highlights from some of the places I went.
    If anyone wants more detail ( GPS cords etc ) shoot me an email.

    All pics were shot between 4/12/13 and 4/21/13.

    Garfield Mill site
    Belmont area
    Manhattan area
    Ruby Hill mine
    Belmont Mill ( not anywhere near the town )
    Hamilton
    Lane City
    Ely Train Museum
    Wendover army airfield

    Nice pictures. So no old Uncle Jebidiah the miner dude warning those medaling kids not to go near the old haunted gold mine.

    That's funny. I guess we were driving the "mystery machine."

    I was waiting for the train in Ely. A gal on the bench next to me asked
    what brought us to town. I explained that we were visiting all of the
    old ghost towns in central Nevada. She wanted to know how many
    ghosts we had found so far....... I explained that it was about history
    and not a cable show. She was nice, but seemed disappointed.

    The "unknown mine" in the pics following Castleton, is the "Wide Awake Mine".

    Default Nevada Ghost Towns

    Hi, I have been really curious about this Nevada Ghost towns. I really appreciate your photos that you took time to share here. I guess, you find it worth going there but I still want to find out and observe what is really behind the historic town.
