    Default Adverse Possession

It is possible to "steal" land, if certain conditions are met. It's called "adverse possession." As long as the land an individual is squatting on doesn't belong to the government, someone can claim an area of land for principal primary residence given the time and useage requirements.

Problem is, many Ghost Towns are on public land, which belongs to the government.
