Are these fairly recent, or are these also vintage photos?

All photos of Calico were taken 50 years ago.

Great series, I really like the black and white pix.

Thanks AZ. All the photos were actually shot in color however years of storage have degraded the photos so severely that the only way to save them and make them viewable was to process and save them as B&W.

Yup, the b&w add a touch of vintageness to them. Very well done!

I just got back from California at 2:30 this morning. We drove right past Calico and I was begging my husband to stop but he wouldn't. I was so upset. But we were in a huge hurry to get home to relieve our babysitters of our kids and I couldn't have done much in Calico anyway because I sprained my ankle very badly the night before. Just as I was getting back on my feet from my hysterectomy I went and busted up my ankle so I'm back down for another 4-6 weeks. This is the seventh time in just over two years I've landed myself in the hospital. At least I had one good day in California, I got to go shopping and play on the beach and go to an awesome Halloween party in San Diego and the band that my husband sponsors (a hardcore band called A Balance of Power) played at the Whisky A GoGo in Hollywood, which is where I made my *Grand* entrance; right down the stairs on 4 inch stilettos. I guess that'll learn me. Actually, no, I'm determined to get back on those stilettos, I just need more practice next time LOL! And maybe I'd better lighten up on the Jager, too!

Now listen Rachel, hurry and get well cuz there's ghost towns that need visiting but don't be wearing them spiked weapons that you call shoes while yur out snooping around in the back country. I guess you could use them to stab rattle snakes though.

LOL, I guess I can understand your husband's reluctance to stop at Calico!

Hope your ankle gets better soon!
